North Broad’s identity can be expressed in five overlapping core values.

  • All who seek to follow Christ are welcomed into our church family.

We are a family of faith.

  • We seek to know, love and support one another in a safe and loving community.

  • Our church family is made up of many kinds of people and families, and we value them all.

We value worship.

  • Our worship is intentional, warm, uplifting, thoughtful, and reflective.

  • Musically we are led in worship by a dedicated choir accompanied by piano and organ. We join our voices together to sing ancient and modern hymns of our faith.

  • Our worship is led by women and men, young and old, laity and clergy.

  • Sermons draw from the stories of scripture and challenge us to think deeply about our faith and what it means to follow Jesus in our lives.

We have a unique theological perspective.

  • During our worship each Sunday we recite together our Affirmation of Faith:

    We believe in God who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit.

    We are called to be the church to celebrate God’s presence, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, and to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our Judge and our hope.

    In life, in death, and in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God!

  • This expression of our faith does not attempt to create a box to contain our faith, but a foundation from which our faith can grow and develop.

  • We encourage questions and open discussion — encouraging each person to grow in their faith and understanding of who God is and how we are to live as seekers of God.

We value missions.

  • We are a missions-minded congregation seeking to make God’s love real in our community and around the world.

  • Missions and community ministry are an ongoing part of who we are and involves our entire church family in serving others.
